Noticed at the movie tonight that the concession stand had pre-bagged popcorn waiting and ready in heated glass-doored units.

When I used to work at a movie theater, people constantly bitched us out because our popcorn was stored loose in heated bins. Just because they couldn't see it popping right in front of them, to a person they assumed that we had bought it pre-made at Sam's. Truth be told, we popped it upstairs in large batches and then stored it in huge plastic sacks in a cement-floored closet, which is nasty enough, but as the MGM lion as my witness, we DIDN'T BUY IT AT SAM'S.

A rush of self-righteous indignation ran over me tonight as I thought "Well, we never would have stooped so low as to pre-bag the popcorn!"

Then I realized that this theater was a member of the same chain that I used to work for. The more things change...
