When walking around the neighborhood we often pass this large tree that has an enormous, lumpy growth--about the size of a kitchen trash sack and with a dent in the middle that splits it gently into two bumps--burgeoning from its side. The other day I was walking with baby and looking at all the pictures neighborhood children had drawn with chalk on the sidewalk. Next to the tree was an arrow and label: THE BUTT TREE.
