While we were home for the holidays we went out to dinner at a Japanese steakhouse with our families. Our nephew is old enough now that his parents (mr rampy's sister and her husband) are feeding him food off of their plates.

At one point the chef scooped a bunch of fried rice off the hibachi and gave it to them, so they then dished a little up for their son. He tried a bit and then made a pained, squinchy face.

"Oh," they said. "It must be too hot."

"Well thank god you had him try it first," my brother said with hilariously fake relief.
